Our client is a multi-national construction consultancy employing 600 people in the UK.
Due to a robust growth plan implemented last year they are seeking a business Development Manager to support their regional growth in the Midlands market.
You will take a lead on the sales of the Birmingham office and be instrumental in setting a strategic sales plan, taking line management responsibility over an existing business development manager, tasked with growing the team.
Ownership of the regional sales function Develop a robust pipeline of opportunities for Birmingham. Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
You will represent the midlands region taking part in national sales and marketing meetings internally ensuring your strategy is in accordance with national strategy.
Identifying cross selling opportunities or chances to maximise existing business through regional relationships. In addition, the role will be responsible for the Birmingham’s regional sector champions and work alongside their national sector champions.

Develop relationships with new and existing clients implementing a strategic consulting sales process.
Lead sector leaders in targeting the right companies and individuals
Meet architects, consultants and contractors to keep abreast of market trends and targets
Developing and adapting presentation material and collateral for client meetings
Key account management, developing key client relationships
Liaise internally with Marketing team and Bid Coordinators / Managers
Utilising market intelligence to highlight new clients and facilitate introductions
Networking, attending events nationally
Focus on ROI and budget management control.

The ideal candidate will have an extensive understanding on the Midlands market and opportunities, ideally working in a construction consultancy environment.
